c2c trains offer automatic refunds for journey delays

Commuters can now get automatic refunds if their train journeys are delayed by more than two minutes when travelling on c2c trains.

The idea is being tested between south Essex and London by the train operator c2c and could be rolled out across the UK.

c2c's Smartcard users will get 3p back per minute when trains are late.

Commuters on the service have been frustrated after the recent implementation of a controversial timetable that they say is causing overcrowding.
