Calls for government to fund 'affordable' rental homes

The government has been urged to divert billions of pounds intended for home-ownership schemes into affordable rented housing following Britain's decision to leave the European Union.

Property experts have said there are signs that private house-building might be slowing down following the Brexit vote, forcing local authorities and housing associations in England to call on ministers to change tack.
