Knife crime: Challenging the police over stop and search

Youth mentor Dijon Joseph was stop-and-searched after greeting his brother with a fist bump. Police wrongly believed they had been exchanging drugs.

He met Ch Supt Simon Messinger, the borough commander for Lambeth and Southwark in London, to discuss how effective the tool is and whether it is used to unfairly target black men.

More than 40 people have been stabbed to death across the UK so far this year and 20 of the victims were under 20 years old.
