The Prince of Wales has made his first appearance since his wife's abdominal surgery and father's cancer diagnosis.

Prince William lead an investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle, where he presented honours to recipients including Suzie Hutchinson who leads the Little Heart Matters charity and John Broadfoot, founder of the SOS Kit Aid charity for disadvantaged people.

The investiture marks an absence from duties that lasted for three weeks after Catherine, the Princess of Wales underwent abdominal surgery and King Charles III was diagnosed with cancer.

Buckingham Palace said that the King will continue with formal constitutional functions and Prince William will stand in for him at some engagement.
