Hindhead Tunnel under Devil's Punch Bowl to be opened
The £371m Hindhead Tunnel under the Devil's Punch Bowl in Surrey is to be officially opened after a four-and-a-half year construction project.
Transport Secretary Philip Hammond will open the 1.25 mile (1.8km) tunnel, on the London-to-Portsmouth A3 road.
Southbound traffic will then start using the tunnel, with northbound traffic due to start using it in a few days.
