Police reinforcements for Northern Ireland marches

Officers from five of the South of England's forces are on their way to Northern Ireland to help with policing during the "marching season", which begins later this week.

Public order units from Hampshire, Thames Valley, Surrey, Sussex and Dorset will be among 630 officers from across England and Wales helping maintain order during the period of heightened tension.

But there are concerns the deployment will put extra pressure on already stretched forces in the South at a busy time of year.
