Airports Commission: Small airports 'have role to play'

It is "highly unlikely" that Lydd or Manston will be the site of a new South East hub airport, according to the government-appointed Airports Commission.

But Sir Howard Davies, chairman of the commission, told BBC South East smaller airports still had a role to play.

He also said Gatwick Airport's expansion plans were being looked at alongside, not instead of, proposals for a hub airport.
