Ripley Rattlers trams centenary celebrated

The centenary of a notorious tram service described by author DH Lawrence as the "most dangerous" in England is being celebrated.

Known as the Ripley Rattlers, the trams ran from Nottingham to Ripley, via Kimberley and Eastwood, between 1913 and 1932.

They featured in DH Lawrence's 1919 short story Tickets, Please.
