Stewart Jackson MP criticises home-building delays

An MP has suggested a new tax for housing developers who take too long to start building projects.

Stewart Jackson, Conservative MP for Peterborough, made the call as it was discovered that thousands of homes in the East of England were waiting to be built - despite having had planning permission for more than two years.

BBC Essex's political reporter Tom Barton spoke to Mr Jackson, to house-builders and potential home-buyers.
