New fines hope to tackle South East fly-tipping menace
Farmers in the South East say they are bearing the brunt of the growing problem of fly-tipping.
There were nearly 50,000 fly-tipping incidents in the region in the year 2012-13, which cost more than £2.3m to clear up.
Kent farmers Steve Glover, from Hartley Bottom Farm, Longfield, and Trevor Jones, from Harvel House Farm, Meopham, say they regularly find fly-tipped rubbish on their land.
