Folkestone resident marks WW1 with 3,000 knitted poppies

The town of Folkestone stopped to remember the sacrifices made by the millions of soldiers who passed through its streets on the way to war.

Soldiers from across Britain travelled through the town during World War One and their march to the harbour was recreated in a Parade of Remembrance.

The procession followed the Road Of Remembrance which was lined with more than 3,000 knitted poppies.

Craft shop owner Di Burns led the campaign to create the poppies.
