East Midlands Airport profits 'better than before recession'

East Midlands Airport (EMA) profits have risen £14m in 2009 to £16.4m in 2014.

The airport said the rise was also partly due to more revenue from car parking charges as it invested £2m to increase the number of spaces by 1,400.

BMI Baby took its final flight from EMA in 2012, but the gap was filled by the arrival of Monarch Airlines while Ryanair, Jet2 and Flybe have all expanded.
