Firearms officer Carol Howard 'suffered months of hell'

A Metropolitan Police officer who was arrested twice by Sussex Police was discriminated against because of her race and sex, a tribunal has found.

Police firearms officer Carol Howard, who still works for the force, said she was considering further legal action.

She believes she was the victim of a smear campaign aimed at destroying her reputation, after an employment tribunal ruled in her favour.

She has been told that she will not face any criminal charges.

BBC South East reporter Mark Sanders spoke to her, along with Lawrence Davies, of Equal Justice Solicitors.
