Ice Maidens share their story of Antarctic triumph

Six women from the British Army have spoken to the media after becoming the first all-female team to cross Antarctica using muscle power alone.

They completed their trek when they crossed the finish line at the Hercules Inlet on 20 January.

Their 1,000 mile expedition exposed them to temperatures as low as -40 celcius with each of them pulling an 80 kilograms sled.
