Mini Band play Reading Festival gig after 'surprise' revealed on TV
A band who were told on television they would be playing Reading Festival opened The Pit stage on Saturday.
The Mini Band from Newbury in Berkshire became an overnight sensation in 2011 when their cover of Metallica's Enter Sandman went viral, external, getting more than 8.6 million hits.
Band members, aged between 12 and 14, had been invited to meet Metallica but were also told by Sally Taylor on South Today they would be playing one of the stages.
Guitarist Harry Esson said: "It's amazing for us as kids to play Reading, for us it's so unorthodox. It's incredible."
Zoe, 12, said: "I'm over the moon, I hope a lot of people like us."
