Family put up spy cameras in care home to catch neglect
A care worker at a Birmingham home's admitted ill treating and neglecting a 77-year-old woman with dementia, after she was caught out by a secret camera.
A CCTV system was put up in Betty Boylan's room, at Bupa's Perry Locks home, by her family, after they found bruises on her.
Bina Begum, 49, was given a 12-month community order and 40 hours of unpaid work and fined £270.
Another carer is being investigated after she sprayed deodorant in Ms Boylan's face.
Bupa said both women had been "dismissed" and their actions were "unacceptable".
