'The green room's hilarious' for Shakespeare show at RSC

The actor David Tennant has said he is humbled at being asked to host a BBC celebration of Shakespeare alongside some of Britain's most famous actors.

The former Dr Who star, who is currently starring in Richard II, described the green room backstage at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon as "hilarious", as the stars arrived.

Among the famous names are Dame Judi Dench, Sir Ian McKellen, Dame Helen Mirren and Benedict Cumberbatch.

Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall are due to attend Shakespeare Live which begins on BBC Two at 20:30 BST.
