Friargate Coventry: Video shows three months' construction work in seconds

A new time lapse video shows the 1,000 tonnes of steel appearing in Coventry over the last three months in just 39 seconds.

The emerging structure, near the railway station, is the Friargate development's first building – set to be occupied by Coventry City Council next year.

The completion of the steel work means the contractor responsible for delivering the inaugural, 13-storey tower can start adding concrete cladding.

In June, councillors gave the go-ahead for a second, taller building for commercial use that will include a restaurant and glazed pavilion.
