Derbyshire Police in plea to public over wildlife crime

Poachers and some gamekeepers have been targeted in a crackdown on wildlife crime in the Derbyshire Peak District.

An RSPB investigator, who lives in the area, said he was becoming worried at the falling numbers of peregrine falcons and goshawks.

Sgt Darren Belfield, wildlife officer for Derbyshire Police, asked members of the public to help them catch people who damage nests or trap birds of prey.
