Watch: Famous Dovedale stepping stones may take months to repair

Repairs to one of the Peak District's most popular landmarks are unlikely to happen until next year when water levels drop, the National Trust has said.

Several of Dovedale's stepping stones were badly damaged following high water levels during Storm Babet.

Every year, thousands of people travel from all over the country and beyond to cross the River Dove via the stones.

Andy Gibbsmith, from the National Trust, said: "Usually throughout the winter the river level stays pretty high, so it might be spring before it's a safe level for Derbyshire County Council to come and repair them."
