Giant wave drenches West Hoe pedestrians

Waves up to 40ft (12m) high caused considerable damage to properties and structures along the waterfront in Plymouth, Devon.

Tinside Lido, the city's open-air swimming pool on the Hoe, was almost submerged at high tide on Wednesday.

Steve and Amanda Lockhart captured footage of two people being drenched by a wave crashing over the sea wall at West Hoe.
