c2c Southend train worker's suspension 'shocking'

Rail users in Southend have described the decision by train company c2c to suspend a worker for helping a disabled woman off the tracks after she fell from the edge of the platform as "shocking".

The man, a security guard in his 60s, was one of four people who went to the elderly woman's aid on 28 August.

A spokesman for c2c said its employee had been suspended while an investigation took place.
