Double mastectomy to cut cancer risk 'right decision'

A young mother's story after being diagnosed with a gene that brings a high risk of developing breast cancer, is told in a film which premiered at an Essex hospital.

Charlotte Pitock, from Great Dunmow, decided to go ahead with a double mastectomy when she was diagnosed with the BRACA 2 gene which gave her an 85% chance of developing the disease. She said it was the right decision.

Charlotte's Film follows the highs and lows of the mother of three through the surgery and breast reconstruction.

Next month she is running the London Marathon in aid of the Breast Cancer Campaign.
