Runner trying to cross Canada reaches Rocky Mountains

An adventurer from Gloucestershire has reached the Rocky Mountains as he attempts to become the first person to run unaided across Canada.

Jamie McDonald is running 5,000 miles from the east coast to the west coast to raise money for children's hospitals.

So far he has run the equivalent of 170 marathons. He still has another 30 to go.

He faces running in temperatures of -40 degrees and is suffering with frost bite and chronic tendonitis.
