Magna Carta anniversary events under way in Worcestershire
A series of events to mark the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta has been launched in Worcestershire.
The peace treaty signalling the end of a conflict between King John and the barons who were in revolt was sealed in Runnymede, Surrey, on 15 June 1215.
The Magna Carta is seen as the cornerstone of the development of constitutional law in England.
A re-enactment, depicting barons demanding that King John seal the Magna Carta, was held at Worcester Cathedral on Wednesday.
King John is entombed in the cathedral.
