Whalley Hydro project's giant Archimedes screw fitted

A giant Archimedes screw has been lowered into place as part of a Lancashire community project to generate power.

Whalley Community Hydro Limited is building an electricity-generating water mill at Whalley Weir on the River Calder.

The group behind the scheme said the turbine would generate about £90,000 of electricity a year when completed.
