Tunstall residents connect to superfast broadband

Residents of a north Lancashire village have taken matters into their own hands to get superfast broadband.

Volunteers for the Broadband for the Rural North (B4RN) scheme have hooked up Tunstall by digging trenches to lay cables to every house in the village.

The community-led group said communities along its route will now get speeds of up to 1Gbps (gigabit per second).

Helen and Brian Littley said before the new network was installed, there had been some days when they could not connect to the internet at all.
