Morecambe Bay boy, 15, rescued from mud and quicksand
A 15-year-old boy had to be rescued by Coastguard and Lifeboat teams when he got trapped in mud and quicksand at Morecambe on Saturday.
One of his family raised the alarm sparking a rescue that was coordinated by Holyhead Coastguard with Knott End, Arnside and Morecambe Coastguard Rescue Teams joined by the Coastguard helicopter based at Caernarfon. and The RNLI Morecambe.
A Maritime and Coastguard Agency spokesman said the boy was freed using specialist mud rescue equipment.
He added: "Fortunately the tide was going out during the rescue."
