Castleford: Caterpillars cover hedges in giant webs
Giant webs covering hedges and fencing in a West Yorkshire town are thought to be the handiwork of "millions" of caterpillars.
The webbing, believed to have been created by small ermine moth caterpillars, has been videoed by surprised passers-by in Castleford.
According to experts, the webs are spun to protect the caterpillars from predators and do not harm the plants they cover.
