Call for action after pork found in halal lamb burger

The Muslim community has called on the city council to take action after a halal lamb burger made by a company supplying Leicester schools contained up to 50% pork.

The products were made by Doncaster-based Paragon Quality Foods Limited, which said it had never knowingly bought or handled pork.

Under Islamic law, Muslims are strictly forbidden to eat pork.
