Historic Ulverscroft cottage to be opened to public

Plans to open a historic cottage to the public in a Leicestershire village have been approved.

However, Ulverscroft residents fear the increased in traffic - of up to 35,000 visitors a year - will be unmanageable.

Stoneywell Cottage was built by architect Ernest Gimson in 1899.

Three generations of the Gimsons lived there before the National Trust bought the property earlier this year.

The trust is now planning to open a tea room and toilets at the cottage.
