Glasgow hospital chapel turned cancer centre wins award

The redevelopment of a former hospital chapel in Glasgow has won a national lottery award for the best heritage project in the country.

The building, at Gartnavel, has been transformed into a cancer therapy centre run by Cancer Support Scotland.

Designed in 1904 by Sir James John Burnett, the flagship centre offers free services such as complementary therapies and counselling.

The regeneration of the building was run by The Glasgow Building Preservation Trust.
