Memories of Windrush journey to London

It was 65 years ago this week that the ship the Empire Windrush carried more than 500 migrants from the West Indies to London.

It was the start of a cultural transformation of the capital and on Wednesday night a reception was held at Lambeth Town Hall to mark how Brixton was at the heart of that change.

Special Correspondent Kurt Barling spoke with Peter Diethenn, who was a cook on the Empire Windrush, John Richards, who was a migrant on the ship, and Arthur Torrington from Windrush Foundation.
