Haringey shortfall in mental health care

A shortfall in beds for mental health patients in Haringey in north London is forcing some to take up the offer of a bed as far away as Yorkshire.

Up to eight people a day are waiting for one acute bed, according to a recent council report.

The family of Jonathan Culverwell, paranoid schizophrenic, believe he did not get the help he needed before he took his own life.

The health trust says bed numbers are being reviewed.

Mr Culverwell's sister Loren Averill and mother Ceidre Culverwell spoke to Ayshea Buksh.
