Review into undercover policing convictions
A review into criminal convictions in cases involving undercover police officers has been announced by the government.
Home Secretary Theresa May said that the review will initially focus on the undercover police activity of the Metropolitan Police's Special Demonstration Squad.
The review will be conducted by Mark Ellison QC, who also probed the handling of the Stephen Lawrence investigation.
BBC London's Home Affairs Correspondent Guy Smith's report features Home Secretary Theresa May; lawyer Mike Schwarz, from Bindmans LLP; Rachel Robinson, from the charity Liberty, and the Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, who was speaking in March.
