Call for the elderly to downsize their homes

Encouraging the elderly to swap big homes for smaller flats could help solve London's housing crisis, according to the president of the Local Government Association.

Lord Richard Best believes that if older people downsized it could free up accommodation for families.

Lord Best is also is the chair of Hanover Housing, which builds properties for people in later life. He spoke to resident Philip Wright.
