London Underground fares increase

Transport fares in the capital have increased by an average of 2.5% after fare rises came into effect in England and Wales.

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson said the price changes represented a freeze in real terms, but rail unions argue the fares are rising faster than average wages.

BBC London's political correspondent Karl Mercer spoke to a number of passengers as well as Tim Bellenger from London TravelWatch and Shashi Verma from Transport for London.
