Metropolitan Police Federation calls for review into Notting Hill Carnival
The Metropolitan Police Federation, which represents most police officers in London, has called for a review of the Notting Hill Carnival after more than 40 officers were injured.
On BBC Radio 4's PM programme, Ken Marsh, the chair of the Federation, asked Lewis Benn, the trustee director of the Notting Hill Carnival Trust, why large groups of young men with the intention of causing trouble were allowed to attend.
Mr Benn said he did not want those groups of "posturing young youths" to cause trouble but said ticketing was not the answer.
