Wet wipes clogging up London sewers

Every day, Thames Water removes 30 tonnes of wet wipes and sanitary towels which congeal to form fatbergs and clog up the sewage systems.

So Londoners are being encouraged to "bin it, not block it" in a bid to save millions of pounds.

The warning comes as Europe's largest sewage plant in Beckton, east London, faces a massive problem.
