Freddie Mercury: The Thames seal named after a rock star

An attack on a seal in west London is being investigated by police, after the animal had to be put down.

Freddie Mercury the seal sustained such serious injuries in the dog attack on Sunday afternoon that he could not be saved.

He had become a popular attraction in west London and was often spotted sunbathing on the banks of the Thames.
