Teachers' strike: Pay changes 'will destroy team work'
More than 2,700 schools in the north-west of England are facing disruption as staff take part in a one-day strike over pay and pensions, unions say.
The National Union of Teachers and the NASUWT say the strike is affecting 2,765 schools in 22 council areas.
In Liverpool, more than 1,800 attended a rally in St George's Hall, and there were similar gatherings throughout the region.
The Department for Education said the action was disappointing and damages the profession's reputation.
