Liverpool man trials pancreatic cancer immune system vaccine

A man from Liverpool has become the first patient to be given a vaccine at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital's Linda McCartney Centre that could strengthen the immune system of pancreatic cancer patients and help them combat secondary tumours.

Allan Helliar, 64, was the first person to be recruited for the trial after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in October. He had a tumour removed in December.
