Norwich Go Go Gorillas set for charity auction

A band of 53 life-sized gorilla sculptures which formed a conservation art trail across Norwich throughout the summer are set to go under the hammer at auction.

Organised by Norfolk charity Break, which cares for vulnerable people, the Go Go Gorillas were produced by local artists over the past 12 months.

The charity claims the trail, the largest of its kind in England this summer, was visited by more than a million people between 24 June and 7 September.

Organisers hope the project will build on the success of Norwich's Go Elephant trail in 2008, which raised more than £200,000 for CLIC Sargent charities and the Born Free Foundation.

BBC Look East's Mike Liggins reports.
