Northamptonshire Police aims for 'most Special PCs'

A recruitment drive by Northamptonshire Police could mean it has the most Special Constables of any force in the country.

The force hopes to encourage 500 people with regular day jobs to join the ranks by the end of the year - bringing the total number of specials to 900.

Volunteers would not just pound the beat, but work in cyber crime and plain clothes investigations.
