East Midlands MEPs gather support for European election

The Conservatives have kick started their campaign in the East Midlands ahead of the European elections.

Conservative MEP Emma McClarkin said this year the party faced its strongest challenge from UKIP.

The East Midlands has five MEPs representing the region at the European Parliament in Brussels.

Candidates hoping for a seat in May are also from Labour, the Liberal Democrats, Green Party, Harmony Party, English Democrats, the BNP and An Independence from Europe.
