Marines help Taunton church bell appeal
Somerset Royal Marines who are days away from deploying to Afghanistan have been helping to raise money for a church appeal.
The marines from 40 Commando organised the abseil down St Mary Magdalene Church in Taunton - one of the tallest towers in the county at 160ft (49m).
One of the first people they helped over the edge was the vicar, the Reverend Rod Cork.
All the money raised will go towards church funds to restore the tower bells - one of which will be dedicated to the marines.
