Rural skills for young unemployed in Staffordshire

Young unemployed people have been taught traditional countryside skills, in a bid to make them more employable.

They have been doing unpaid work at the Churnet Valley in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

More than 100 will take part in the scheme over the next 18 months.

The work includes improving footpaths, mending fences and clearing unwanted plants such as Himalayan Balsam.
