High wire course at Tees Barrage nears completion

Designers are claiming that the Tees Barrage will soon have the biggest outdoor climbing frame and rope course in Europe.

Construction of the high wire adventure centre on the river front in Stockton is almost complete with some parts of the course stand more than twice the height of an Olympic diving board.

It cost £1m to construct, but Steve Chaytor from Tees Active believes visitors will bring more than £100, 000 a year into the Teesside economy.
