Stoma swimmer travels to Kenya to help women adapting to life after a colostomy

In 2011, Gill Castle was fitted with a stoma bag following the traumatic birth of her son, Sam.

"When I first had my stoma surgery I was told, 'no you can't do that' to a lot of things," Gill said, "but my attitude is well, why not?"

Earlier this year, she became the first English Channel stoma swimmer, as she strived to prove that her stoma would not hold her back.

Now, working with her charity Chameleon Buddies, Gill is helping women in Kenya adapt to life after a colostomy.
