Sierra Leone medics given Ebola test kit by Porton Down scientists

Government scientists are teaching laboratory staff in Sierra Leone to use a testing kit which they used to detect Ebola during the outbreak.

The team from Public Health England, based at Porton Down near Salisbury, Wiltshire, believes the kit has the potential to save thousands of lives by detecting other infections.

Three mobile testing laboratories will be set up in Sierra Leone which will increase the amount of tests carried out.
